Product switch remortgage
A product switch, also called a product transfer, is a type of remortgage where you stay with the same lender when your current rate comes to an end. You can do this yourself directly with your lender. However, using a broker can be advantageous. I can check other lenders to make sure you are getting a competitive rate, check the loan to value and also, if your lender reduces its rate before your switch date, I can switch you to the lower rate.
Remortgage to a different lender
When your current mortgage product ends, you typically get offered a product switch. However you may want to look at different lenders as well. This could be either to borrow more money on your mortgage or because a different lender has a better rate.
Debt consolidation
Is your mortgage up for renewal in the next 6 months? I can help with consolidating existing debts onto the mortgage even if you stay with your current lender. Often though, we will need or make an application with a different bank. In this situation your current mortgage is redeemed and the borrowing moves fully over to a new lender. You may want borrow more money for home improvements or to buy a car. Getting in touch early gives you time to look at the options and make an informed decision.
